Cabin In The Woods

The Big Indochina Trip: looping the loop

The main reason people come to Thakhek is to do The Loop, a three day round trip by motorbike that not only goes through beautiful scenery but passes by a number of caves and lakes where you can go swimming. I decided to do the loop anti clockwise, starting with the caves just east of Thakhek.

The lake surface is perfectly flat and reflects a light blue summer night sky as well as the dark contours of the opposite shore. A ragged line of treetops meeting a slightly yellow band of sky both over and bellow. A boulder, a tall birch tree and some hanging branches frame the picture and on the other side, the faint orange glow of a solitary house.
